KCIW 100.7 FM – Curry Coast Community Radio
Curry Coast Community Radio is a low -power FM community radio station in the community of Brookings-Harbor. Our mission is to provide an effective forum for the free exchange of artistic expression, information, and differing viewpoints to encourage communication, cooperation, and collaboration among local government entities, schools, service groups, other nonprofits, and population segments whose voices are not often heard or heeded.
Our programming is diverse, with a common theme of community action, education, and involvement:
We provide a forum for local government officials and community leaders to dialog with the public through interviews, round table discussions, and live call-in programs.
We showcase local arts, music, literary, and drama through the broadcast of locally produced music, radio drama, poetry and prose readings, and interviews with musicians, artists, and authors.
We encourage students and other community members to participate in program production and station operation, allowing them to gain valuable verbal, organizational, and technical skills that can be used in other aspects of life.
Curry Coast Community Radio is a noncommercial radio station operated entirely by unpaid volunteers. We are an Oregon nonprofit corporation established on October 1, 2013. We were granted an FCC Construction Permit on February 3, 2014, allowing us to proceed with the construction of a low-power FM community radio station.
We began broadcasting on January 1, 2017. We broadcast a full 24/7 program schedule on 100.7 FM, and we podcast a selection of locally-produced programming through our web site and through iTunes, Stitcher Radio, and Tune-In Radio. Our signal is received through most of the Brookings-Harbor area. We will eventually stream our programming on the Internet to all of Curry County (and the world). Our web site is http://kciw.org.
