The Wild Rivers Mushroom Festival is held annually on the first full weekend of November, and brings together people of all ages from all over the Pacific Northwest region and beyond who share a love of learning about identifying, harvesting, cooking, and eating wild mushrooms.
At the festival, over 200 varieties of locally collected wild mushrooms will be on display throughout the two days! Experts will be on hand to help with identification. Festival goers are encouraged to bring in their own mushroom specimens and get them identified.
Vendors will be selling all manner of fungi-related products, including fresh edible mushrooms. There will be gourmet mushroom dishes for sale to tempt your taste buds and local micro-brews…including a porcini mushroom brew!
Regional experts, along with knowledgeable members of the Wild Rivers Mushroom Club, will be leading mushroom ID hikes both days. We try to schedule as many hikes as possible, and groups are kept small so that everyone will have a chance to learn. A small fee is charged for each hike.
Local, regional and national mushroom experts will conduct a variety of hands-on workshops, tickets for which will go on sale through this website starting in the fall. There will be workshops and presentations on growing, harvesting, cooking with, eating, identifying and using both wild and cultivated mushrooms.
