Who we are:
The Chetco Pelican Players is a nonprofit, local community theater company that teaches and promotes engagement with the performing arts. In operation since 1988, we are dedicated to bringing quality, affordable live theater to the Brookings-Harbor community.
Our mission:
“The Chetco Pelican Players Theater Company of Brookings-Harbor, Oregon, is dedicated to enriching our community with well-crafted live theater utilizing the extraordinary volunteer talent in our area. We create and encourage a uniquely diverse social environment, and preserve awareness of the arts–which is fundamentally necessary to the function of a healthy social community.”
What we do:
In a typical year, the Chetco Pelican Players produces a six-show live season, manned by volunteer crews and casted through open auditions. Our summer show is a dedicated youth production for children up to the age of 18–but all of our plays feature roles and volunteer opportunities for people of ALL ages and backgrounds.
We provide a gateway for beginners and novices to connect with the fundamentals of live theater, and affordable cultural enrichment opportunities for our audience members.
Ticket prices for professional theater productions can be prohibitively expensive. The Chetco Pelican Players are committed to keeping ticket and membership prices affordable, to make live theater accessible to as many people as possible. Our adult ticket prices are $12 per seat for a comedy or drama, and only $15 per seat for a musical–comparable to the average price of a movie ticket!
